About Me

With over 13 years of experience in the culinary industry, Elham has had an overall passion and love for cooking since early childhood and has experience in a wide variety of cuisines. Her specialty is to cook with fresh, quality ingredients.

Even after graduating with a BA in Advertising and minor in International Marketing, Elham never lost the desire for food. She worked in the computer industry for several years before finally making the move to begin teaching cooking at Viking HomeChef in 1999. She began catering in 2000 and founded Blue Sage in 2006, which has grown into a successful business with hundreds of corporate and private clients.

In 2008, she was recruited to start up and manage the culinary program at the Palo Alto location of Sur La Table, where she was responsible for overseeing all the operations of the cooking school, including scheduling of classes, planning the menus, and teaching 3-4 classes a week. Elham left in 2009 to be able to put all her energies into Blue Sage.

In 2011, she extended her culinary education, passion, and inspiration by training in Lyon, France with Chef Jean-Marc Villard, a chef-professor for ten years at the Paul Bocuse Institute.

Elham is always looking to expand her culinary repertoire thru local programs as well. Early last year, she completed an intensive cheese course and is now an Artisan Cheese Specialist. Her most recent continued leaning was completing the Wine Foundation Program at The French Culinary Institute.

She has also worked with such accomplished chefs as Chris Cosentino, Michael Chiorello, Tyler Florence, and Cindy Pawlcyn.
